1) The London-based Switchboard LGBT+ helpline is open every day from 10am-11pm, including over the Christmas and New Year period, to provide you with support, information and also offer a referral service for lesbians, gay men and bisexual and trans* people – and anyone considering issues around their sexuality and/or gender identity.
They are confidential, welcoming, supportive and non-judgemental. Although they are based in London, they can provide you with support, regardless of where you live.
You can call them on
0300 330 0630.
2) As stated on their website, you can talk to Samaritans "any time you like, in your own way, and off the record – about whatever’s getting to you. You don’t have to be suicidal."
They are open 24 hours a day, 364 days a year.
Although they are not LGBT-specific, they are trained up to listen to you and for you to talk about your thoughts and feelings, to help you see things more clearly and think more clearly about your options.
You can call Samaritans for FREE on 116 123#
When we are back open and you want some short-term or long-term support in the local area in the form of one-to-one support or counselling, you can get in contact with us.
