This year our focus is on understanding how the quality of overall health and wellbeing can impact on sexual health. There will be a chance to join in activities for the mind, soul and body, such as taking a ride on our smoothie bike. We also want to showcase some of the agencies we work with and how we can all help you into the future. These are:
1. Get healthy is a unique service developed in partnership with LCC. Get healthy advises to eat a bit more healthily, be a bit more physically active, lose some weight etc.
2. Stop Smoking is the local service to provide help and support to people who wants to reduce smoking and stop smoking completely through a variety of behavioural change and support programmes available.
3. Juniper Lodge/UAVA will give an opportunity to discuss concerns and raise awareness of sexual abuse. The Signal team investigates rape and assault by penetration. The unit has strong links with partner agencies to ensure that victims are fully supported in a way that is tailored to suit them.
4. Prepster will provide information about preventative treatment for HIV. Prepster aims to educate and agitate for PrEP access in England and beyond.PrEPster.info and its related activities are produced by a volunteer group of London-based HIV prevention activists.
5. Turning point aims to to promote awareness of mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, impact of learning disability on overall health and showcase how this relates to Trade’s ethos. Turning Point is a social enterprise, focused on improving lives and communities for those that need most, across mental health, learning disability, substance misuse and employment
We will again be working in partnership with Leicester Sexual Health Services who will be providing quick, easy and full sexual health checks.
