Trade Sexual Health (Trade) is a small, vibrant health and wellbeing charity based in Leicester. We have over two decades’ experience supporting the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, and have an ambition to expand our services across the East Midlands. Our core services include, health promotion work (primarily around sexual health and HIV prevention), LGBTQ+ community building projects, and a small, specialist counselling service – Approach Counselling.

After a period of staffing instability, Trade’s small, close-knit team of volunteer counsellors deserve a dedicated manager to lead the service. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Interim Counselling Service Manager (for six months in the first instance) who can hit the ground running, to help get the service back on its feet, recruit and induct new counselling placement students, and to work with Trade’s CEO and the charity’s Trustees to develop a business plan and strategy for the managed growth of the counselling service over the next few years.

Beyond these immediate challenges, the core purpose of the Counselling Service Manager post is to co-ordinate, lead and oversee a safe, professional, and accessible counselling service.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • devising and implementing a plan for managing the service’s current, waiting list;
  • performing client assessments and allocating new clients to appropriate counsellors
  • managing our team of volunteer counsellors and placement students
  • helping to implement the Lamplight client record system.

Completed application to be sent to info@tradesexualhealth.com by the closing date.

Closing date: Monday 4 December at 12pm (noon)

Please note that late applications and CV's will not be accepted.

Interview dates: Thursday 14 December at the Trade office.

Benefits of working for the Trade Sexual Health include:

  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata) + Public Holidays
  • 5% pension
  • Flexible working, including time off in lieu and flexi-time
