Could you be the face of Leicester's 'How Many Times' campaign?

The council’s community safety team is looking for volunteers who would be willing to be photographed as part of a domestic violence and sexual violence campaign.

The photographs will be used in posters for the ‘how many times’ campaign, which aims to promote awareness of the local sexual violence and domestic violence helplines that provide advice and support to anyone affected by those issues. The images will be used in two linked posters, to be released in November 2014 and March 2015. These posters aim to link a ‘current’ position of someone worried about their own or someone else’s relationship (to be used in November) and then a ‘future’ position of someone recovering and living free from violence and abuse (to be used in March). The campaign has been significantly informed by local service user input.

The posters aim to speak to people who may be experiencing domestic violence or sexual violence, or concerned friends or family members. Those who have given permission for their image to be used will be described as ‘supporters’ of the campaign.

We would like the posters to be of people who reflect the City of Leicester as fully as possible.  We are particularly looking for young people aged 16-18 and older people (60+) as they are currently under represented in reports but the more images we have available the better our reach will be.

The photo shoots will take place on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 September.

For further information, or to offer yourself as a volunteer, please email Sharon Bryan on sharon.bryan@leicester.gov.uk or call 454 0254 by 12.00noon Friday 19th September.
