Covid-19: A message from Salim Khalifa, Services Director at Trade Sexual Health

Friday, 20th March 2020

These are extraordinary times and I know that, like all of us here at Trade Sexual Health, many of you are concerned about coronavirus (COVID-19). Our thoughts are with all those affected and the people working tirelessly to care for them.

I have always valued the voluntary sector and the work we do to make a positive difference to someone’s life.  I am overwhelmed with how the charity sector has come together to ensure the communities we work with don’t suffer and have all found creative ways to offer support.

Everyone has a part to play in order for us to get through these times. Here at Trade HQ, we are constantly reviewing our services to make sure people have access.  For the health and safety of staff, volunteers and public we have had to temporarily stop all face to face and drop-in services.  If you require a HIV test, you can order a free HIV postal test kit. We will be increasing our online presence and offering video chat and Skype options. The phone line will also be open Monday to Friday and our workers will be available to offer support, guidance and help. Full details off change of services and alternatives are below.

Finally, I wanted to end by saying a huge thank you to the Trade staff team and all the volunteers who are working flat out in difficult circumstances to ensure we continue to deliver services.
