How can you help us?
Since 1995, there has been an increase of 1497% in the diagnosed cases of syphilis and every 70 minutes, somebody in the UK is diagnosed with HIV. Find out how you can help Trade to reduce these figures and be there for those affected by them.
Volunteering at Trade
The work done at Trade by people offering their time, commitment and experience as volunteers is vital to the continuation of the charity.
People volunteer to do all sorts of roles from helping us out at stalls and events to making up condom packs or becoming a member of our board of trustees. We train all our volunteers in the role that they choose and we give them support to make sure they are happy with the work that they are doing.
Why do people volunteer?
People volunteer to help us for all sorts of reasons:
- Giving something back, because they have received our help and now want to use their experience to help others
- Gaining skills to help get them into a particular area of paid work or study
- Meeting people
- Trying something new
How volunteers help
There are all sorts of ways you could help, depending on the time and skills you have to offer, for example:
- Fundraising
- Doing health promotion work in the community
- Supporting someone as a buddy
- Using skills you may already have to help with housing, legal advice, benefits info or immigration
- Making condom packs
- Covering drop-in sessions
- Becoming a member of the board of trustees
- Helping around the office
- Distributing condoms
- Helping us organise events and stalls

Fundraising
Whether you're looking for cocktails and glamour, fresh air and fun or sore feet and a warm glow, you could help Trade with a fundraising event that you and your friends can enjoy too.
We are always looking for volunteers to get involved in community events to raise money and awareness for the work of Trade Sexual Health Project.
